Planning Ahead: Budgeting for Scheduled Maintenance

Planning Ahead: Budgeting for Scheduled Maintenance

When many people purchase a new automobile, they plan for maintenance, purchase insurance, and research the cost of operating it. Purchasing an integrated audio, video, lighting and media system for your business, church, or school isn’t much different.

Even if you’re financing a system or purchasing it outright, you want to get the most from your investment. Budgeting for scheduled maintenance is as necessary as insurance for your shiny new ride. S&L offers Client Care, which is a periodic maintenance plan to ensure that your system stays operational.  In the event of an emergency, a service professional will fix the issue just like your car’s roadside assistance coverage does.

There are many advantages of purchasing a Client Care service contract along with your new integrated AV system:

Client Care Extends The Life Of Your System

Manufacturers often provide limited warranties that protect against manufacturing defects or guarantee the equipment will operate properly for a short period of time. You can also purchase extended warranties but these seldom cover service calls and support. Client Care bridges that gap providing an additional layer of protection to ensure that all your equipment is serviced correctly and continues to function properly for a much longer period of time.

With Client Care, There Is No Need To Hire Additional Staff

Some of our clients are worship centers and schools that have volunteers and non-technical staff operating and/or maintaining equipment. Much of the gear that we install requires complicated programming, networking, and minute adjustments to perform properly. Not only is it necessary for the equipment to be installed by trained technicians, it also needs to be maintained by them. If we lived in a perfect world, electronics would never fail or need attention. Since we don’t, your equipment will need maintenance from time to time. Having a professionally trained technician check over operating systems, update firmware and software, and inspect any moving parts keeps your system running and your business productive.

Client Care Guarantees The Manufacturer’s Warranties

Changing the oil in your new car yourself may save a dollar or two. However, having it performed by an industry-certified mechanic or service center guarantees against minor issues and protects your car’s warranty. Many manufacturers of electronic components won’t replace defective equipment unless it’s been serviced and installed by industry certified technicians. Our team of technicians is industry certified and receives ongoing training on new equipment and systems. When we maintain your system, we help keep you compliant with the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Client Care Gets You Back Up And Running

Client Care can provide temporary replacement (loaner) equipment when something breaks. Servicing may take some time, especially if the equipment has to be repaired at our facility or sent off. We can help you stay productive by temporarily providing you with the equipment that you need to keep your system working.

Ask yourself the following questions: Do I want to handle difficult repairs myself? Do I want to train my volunteers and/or already over-tasked staff to perform maintenance? Would hiring someone to come on-site and perform the necessary maintenance and repairs be helpful? These are all valid questions that should be considered in your budgeting and planning to ensure you can properly keep up with the requirements needed to keep your equipment in top shape.

Client Care From S&L Provides Peace Of Mind

Your system must remain functioning. Many of the components need firmware and software updates. We stay current with manufacturers’ updates and fixes and will push them to your system either remotely or at your location. We also offer annual cleaning, which helps many of the components run more efficiently. Troubleshooting and diagnosis is accounted for, too. Just like cars that need regular oil changes, periodic filter swaps, and occasional tire rotations and balancing, the electronics in your system also need attention and, sometimes, replacement parts. This is routine and we have plans that cover this. Call (229) 378-8866 or email sales@slintegrated.com. An S&L sales representative can tell you more about how Client Care can protect your system.

In a future article, we will discuss how Client Care combined with Technolgy As A Service (TAAS) can provide a perfect solution for businesses that need to update expensive electronic equipment periodically.
